A bit of news worth sharing: flowio has been named an OpenAI Select Partner, part of the OpenAI Partner Network. I want to explain what that means in practice, because partner badges on their own often tell you very little about whether a company can actually deliver.

What an OpenAI “Select Partner” actually means

The OpenAI Partner Network is OpenAI’s global programme for companies that build, sell and deliver AI solutions on top its models. Select partner status goes to agency partners OpenAI recognises for a combination of real industry expertise, the ability to ship working systems, and genuine customer relationships – rather than pilots and good intentions. In return, OpenAI Select Partners such as flowio get closer access to capabilities, enablement and support, which keeps the work we do for clients aligned with the latest capability of what the models can actually do today, instead of lagging months behind.

As part of the OpenAI Partner Network status, flowio has access to best-in-network OpenAI led certifications – with Malcolm holding the OpenAI Consultative Practitioner Certification, meaning that responsible AI adoption and selling standards are consistently met, and adhered to.

Order forms had previously required to be manually matched against an extensive product catalogue of SKUs, with hundreds of custom dimensions, and no consistent order format. With each order taking over 30 minutes to match, to then create a CSV output for their production system.

flowio developed an automated solution utilising the power of GPT-5.6 that extracts any file or format the order arrives in, then systematically matches vague and custom product descriptions to actual product codes. All the business now has to do is send an email to a dedicated inbox, and receives back a CSV with matched output for approval – which happens in less than 2 minutes.

The word I care about most is “responsibly”

Deploying AI into a live business – one that handles customer calls, personal data and real money – isn’t the place for move fast and break things, or a place for practitioners not experienced in the field. A lot of our job is the unglamorous side: making sure a system is secure, compliant with UK data protection rules, honest about when someone’s speaking to an AI, and reliable enough to trust with a customer at eight in the morning. What changes from here

Day to day, not much about how we work, and quite a lot about what we can reach for.
